Accommodation
There are plenty of options however we recommend to book as soon as possible as those close to the wedding venue, Linoire, may go fast as it’s peak season in Corrèze. Accomodation options come in different forms from hotels to gîtes to auberges (definition below) and airbnbs. Turenne, the closest village, is the location to aim for, and this offers a number of airbnbs.
Contact details of the hotels of the Turenne village:
Chambre d'hôtes au château de Turenne : 06 81 59 97 78
Chambres d'hôtes à Bontemps: 06 87 59 39 57 ou 05 55 97 72
Below in the carousel are a selection of a few good options we have found but for more, here is a more extensive list: link
For a wider selection outside of Airbnbs, we’d recommend checking booking.com and this local website listing for all the gîtes: link
Recommended nearby towns for accommodation includes: Turenne, Collonges la rouge, Curemonte, Meyssac, Martel
For more options but slightly further afield: Rocamadour, Beaulieu-sur-dordogne, Brive la gaillarde
Note for the non francophone: A gite is a short term b&b but with self catering, often privately owned. An auberge is an inn (or pub) offering rooms
FAQ
Can I bring my children?
Whilst we love little ones, the Saturday is a strictly over 18’s celebration. However on Friday & Sunday kids & teens are welcome to join the fun. If you need help with babysitting for the Saturday, please let us know and we will help arrange something local.
Should I rent a car?
Good idea! Turenne is about a 30 minutes walk (5min by car) to the wedding venue however on quite an incline, could be good to keep your reserves for the dance floor...
What’s the parking situation like?
For Saturday at Linoire we have limited parking spots. We’ll kindly ask you to car pool with other guests as much as possible to minimize the number of cars to park onsite.
We’ll also ask guests to park outside of the property in this parking area, transports will take care of bringing guests to the venue.
In general in the region, check with your accommodation what the parking options are. In Turenne (and other towns), parking is restricted within historic towns however with ample parking stations in close proximity.
What’s the plan for Friday night?
We will be providing cocktails & aperitifs in the Turenne castle gardens. Following this, for those interested we will follow with drinks and music in this chapel. Please let us know in the RSVP so we can make a reservation on your behalf.
And what about Sunday?
You’ll enjoy a classic brunch but bring your swimsuits & towels as we’ll have a pool party my friends - expect some Tiki vibes & DJ pool side!
What’s the dress code?
Friday night: casual chic (dresses for women & shirt for gents welcomed). Ladies feel free to wear heels but likely there will be cobblestones around so beware.
Saturday: formal suits & dresses. Ladies best to avoid stilettos as our dance floor is fully covered with cobblestones. The cocktail will be in our garden which has uneven grounds.
Sunday brunch: bring your best tiki inspired outfits, we will provide accessories but get colorful!
What are your recommendations of things to do and visit in the region?
The region offers many pretty villages to visit for example: Collonges la rouge, Curemonte, Meyssac, Martel. Each town has designated market days to explore local yum yums as well as crafts.
The Dordogne valley offers many amazing options like Beaulieu-sur-dordogne, Sarlat-la-Canéda, Carennac, Loubressac…
See the Michelin guide here for good meal options across the region.
Bordeaux & Loire wine regions are a little further afield but good options if you plan to do a little more sight seeing.
